CHRISTMAS REVISION

Because of the disruption caused by the current covid situation, it has never been more important to develop the skills necessary for independent study. Our online revision courses can help make up for work missed, fill in gaps in knowledge and understanding and help you improve your answers to exam questions. This will help set you up to study effectively in 2021.

ONLINE TUITION

Our Christmas revision courses this year are all online.

Online tuition has a number of clear advantages over face-to-face tuition. Firstly, social distancing and lockdowns, and other covid restrictions do not disrupt the courses. Also, you can attend from home: there is no need to come to Oxford or to arrange accommodation here. Neither time nor money is spent on travelling to and from the tutorial each day. You will never forget a calculator, or a notepad, or a textbook. All that time saved adds up, giving you lots of extra time for revision and other activities. There is no need to worry about having to walk or cycle to a class in the wind or the rain or the snow. There is no risk of catching cold, flu, or other viruses.

FEATURES OF OUR COURSES

This Christmas our courses are three days long and available on three different sets of dates (see below). A single A-level subject is studied on any one course. You can book a separate three-day course for each subject you want to study, or attend parts of courses or you can ‘mix and match’ i.e. do one or two days of one course and one or two days of another.

Courses are available in most A-level subjects, GCSE Maths, and GCSE Science.

COURSE DATES

Courses are available on the following sets of dates

• Course 1: Monday 21 December to Wednesday 23 December
• Course 2: Monday 28 December to Wednesday 30 December
• Course 3: Sunday 27 December and Saturday 2 January and Sunday 3 January

Each day of each course runs from 9am to 5pm (or, in a few cases, 10am to 6pm)

Note Course 3 does not cover three consecutive days but is spread over two weekends.

COURSE FEES

The fee is £600 for a three-day course.

If you want to attend just part of a course or ‘mix and match’ the fee is £240 per day

WHAT YOU NEED

You will need a modern computer with microphone and speaker (or headphones). A fast and reliable internet connection is essential. You also need a pad of writing paper and a pen. Beyond that, a writing tablet would useful as would a printer.

OUR CREDENTIALS

Oxford Science and Maths Tutors has been a part of the Oxford Tutorial scene for many years. Our ‘get those grades’ catchphrase was first used in 1986. We initially tutored students in their own homes and moved into city-centre premises during the 1990s. More recently we have shifted to online tutoring – so, having come full circle, we are once more tutoring people in their own homes!
